WEEKEND IN LA RIOJA

In this post we are going to propose a series of activities to spend a weekend in La Rioja so that you can spend a couple of unforgettable days. The ideal would be to come during the week, since we will find less people and we will be able to access restaurants, museums, etc. in a comfortable way.

On the other hand, if we can extend our visit one more day, so much the better, but we are going to give you some ideas with representative enclaves of La Rioja.

We start from Haro where we recommend you to stay in our luxury apartments Wine & Soul Suites Apartments. A visit to Haro is highly recommended, accessing the old town, making some wines in the neighborhood of La Estación, some tapas in La Herradura or visiting the Church of Santo Tomás, as well as different Palaces such as the Tejada among others.

Just 40 minutes away by car you can go to San Millán de la Cogolla and as an essential visit to the monasteries of Suso and Yuso that we have already talked about in another post.

La Rioja offers us a series of villages with a lot of charm, here we detail some of them that are worth visiting: Ezcaray, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Briñas, El Ciego, Casalarreina, Briones, Nájera or La Guardia.

Remember that Logroño is only 30 minutes away by car, and it is definitely worth visiting its shopping streets, its cultural heritage or having some informal tapas or tasting the Riojan cuisine in one of its restaurants.

We have also spoken to you previously about more sporting activities, from hot-air balloon rides to quad excursions, which will allow you to connect with nature and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of La Rioja.

And we should not leave La Rioja without visiting one of its wineries and tasting its local wines. You will find wineries of all kinds, from the smallest family-run wineries to the largest ones with a wide variety of types of wine.

Being in Haro in the heart of Rioja Alavesa and cradle of wine, we recommend some of the wineries in the area, wineries Bilbainas, Lopez de Heredia, Ramon Bilbao or Martinez Lacuesta among many others.

We are very unfair only naming 4 of them, so we leave you this link of Haro Tourism where you will find a wide portfolio of wineries in Haro.
